Men In Flight

Men in Flight (sometimes abbreviated to M.I.F.) was founded by London-born Julian Paul Woodcock at the beginning of the century, shortly after the end of multi-ethnic reggae fusion band Human Race at the end of the last, band which he co-founded, with which he lead-sang and rhythm-guitared in his adopted place of residence, Madrid, as well as at major Spanish reggae festivals such as Torelló (Barcelona), where he was politely encouraged by Rita Marley. The man who was too shocked and shy to accept an invitation from Gino Washington to audition as harmonica player for his Ram Jam Band while still at college, went on to front his own groups, with M.I.F. being the most personal project of all.
The concept of M.I.F. involves a no limits on style approach, an attitude Julian admires in musicians such as Nitin Sawnhey. From swing to dub ,from prog rock to chill, from acoustic to electronic-it´s all there in the melting pot. Songwriter and arranger who sings and plays his tunes with the collaboration of bassist, co-arranger and recording assistant (also author of tracks for bands as well films) Julián Hernández Arnal (jharnal), musician with an absolute multiplicity of influences and experiences ranging from funk to prog rock as well as acid jazz and electronic.
While they have played on the Madrid club scene (with other live musicians completing the line-up) at a variety of venues , Julian and Julián have concentrated their efforts in the last year or so on the recording of the tracks you can download on the website.
The band is available for gigs almost everywhere - just contact us.
